‘As the 6th Ward Councilman and proud Muslim who represents one of the largest concentrations of Muslims in the country, I fully condemn the horrific and cowardly act of terrorism against Muslims in New Zealand. It is both heartbreaking and maddening. No one should ever be targeted based on religion, race, or creed. We must stand united against hate wherever it may attempt to take root – whether in our own backyards or in another part of the world.’
