Pou Votes Against American Defense Budget

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D-NJ-09) early this morning voted against House Republicans’ partisan defense budget package.

“The annual defense budget is one of the most important matters we consider in Congress and today House Republicans have rendered in just one more partisan farce,” said Congresswoman Pou. “This legislation will continue Elon Musk’s nefarious work by gutting critical positions that help protect America. How does attacking women’s health care improve our national defense? How does shielding Russia protect Americans’ freedom? How does empowering the voices of far-right extremists help democracy flourish at home abroad? How does targeting gay Americans help anyone? I value American defense dearly. This bill will not protect America but instead make us weaker and more vulnerable. I voted no.”
