Re-Elect Proven, Independent Voices for LD21

Jason F. Cilento, Mayor of Dunellen

As we head into Election Day on Tuesday, November 4th, I want to personally share why I’m supporting Assemblywomen Nancy Muñoz and Michele Matsikoudis for re-election in New Jersey’s 21st Legislative District.

It’s not just because I’m a Republican, but because Nancy and Michele are truly independent leaders who care about people over politics. They’re not part of the “same old, same old” down in Trenton under the Golden Dome. And don’t believe what their opponents are saying, its campaign hyperbole. These two are problem-solvers who put results and integrity first, no matter the party label. Both have earned reputations for independence, accessibility, and effectiveness.

Nancy Muñoz, a longtime advocate for fiscal responsibility and currently serving as the Minority Budget Officer on the Assembly Budget Committee, has worked across the aisle to ensure taxpayer dollars are used efficiently and essential services remain strong. Notably the only nurse currently serving in the Assembly, her steady leadership and deep understanding of healthcare and emergency preparedness continue to benefit communities across the district and throughout New Jersey.

Michele Matsikoudis, a former councilmember in New Providence with a professional background in real estate and finance, has brought her local government and business experience to Trenton with focus and passion, particularly on commerce, economic development, agriculture, and education. She has worked tirelessly on issues of affordability, infrastructure improvements, and commonsense reforms that help working families and small businesses alike. Her practical, solutions-driven approach has resonated well beyond party lines.

Together, Nancy and Michele have been leading voices for NJ Transit reform, fighting for improved reliability, accountability, and safer commuting options for the thousands of residents in our region who rely on public transportation. They have also stood up for property tax relief, safer communities, and greater local control, values that matter to everyone, regardless of political affiliation. Most importantly, they have delivered tangible results, bringing millions of dollars back to the district through grant support and responsive constituent services. Their offices have assisted residents with Social Security and pension issues, Anchor benefits, unemployment concerns, and much more.

Here in Dunellen, where I can speak most directly, Nancy and Michele have been true partners, from supporting our train station improvement efforts to helping after severe storms, and backing initiatives that make our community safer and more affordable. They understand that good governance means listening first and acting with integrity, not ideology. And when their phones ring, they answer, without hesitation.

At a time when politics can feel divided, we need leaders who focus on common sense and real results. That’s why I’m proud to stand with Nancy Muñoz and Michele Matsikoudis, and why I hope you’ll join me in supporting them on Election Day.

Every vote matters. Your voice will help determine whether our district continues to have the steady, thoughtful leadership it deserves.
