Readout of Bipartisan Call with Governor Murphy and Members of the New Jersey Congressional Delegation
Governor Murphy today convened a bipartisan call with members of the New Jersey congressional delegation on the impacts of the federal government shutdown.
The Governor thanked all on the line for joining, and pledged that it would be first of many engagements with the state’s federal delegation. Governor Murphy emphasized his concern about the severe potential impacts of the federal government’s shutdown on New Jersey families and stated that lines of communication are open between his office and the entire delegation.
The Governor listened to the perspectives of federal representatives on the call, including Senator Menendez, Senator Booker, Congressman Pallone, and Congressman MacArthur, all of whom were concerned about the shutdown’s effects on New Jersey and pledged to work towards a speedy resolution.
