Rep. Sherrill Hosts Roundtable with Hispanic Community Leaders on COVID-19
Washington, DC — Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) last week hosted a roundtable discussion with NJ-11 and statewide leaders about the health, economic, educational, and social impacts of COVID-19 on the Hispanic community, and the action that needs to be taken to bring coronavirus relief and systemic change to New Jersey.
“Discussions like this are critical in the effort to address the disproportionate impact COVID has had on particular communities. I am grateful for the opportunity to hear from this impressive group. They provided a broad range of perspectives from the Hispanic community. We will all need to continue to work together if we are going to address issues from the disparities in vaccine distribution to the systemic issues brought to light by this pandemic,” said Rep. Sherrill.
Representative Sherrill was joined by:
Senator Teresa Ruiz, LD-29, Senate President Pro Tempore
Luis De La Hoz, Chairman, Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey
David Silva, Pastor Centro Biblico of NJ & Morristown Councilmember
Cindy Matute-Brown, West Orange Council President
