RSLC: Republican’s State of Play in New Jersey

As today marks two weeks until the November election, state Republicans are in a good position to build off the gains they made in 2021.

With Joe Biden’s disapproval rating at approximately 55% as well as 45% of New Jerseyans disapproving of the Democrat-led state legislature, Republicans have seen key legislative districts leaning towards conservative policies and candidates.

According to Save Jersey’s legislative district ratings, two races in the Assembly have moved from “Lean DEM” to “Swing,” while three Senate races have moved more towards Republicans either as a “Likely GOP” seat or a “Safe GOP” seat, and three other Assembly races have moved a bit close towards Republicans.

What’s more, Democrats are second guessing their stance on certain issues they once vehemently stood by such as the offshore wind projects where Senate President Nick Scutari and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin wrote a joint statement this past summer questioning their “costs and impacts.”

But that’s not all, on issues such as parental rights, a recent poll by Fairleigh Dickinson University showed New Jerseyans prefer Republicans’ pro-parent stance over Democrats.

Bottom Line: New Jerseyans realize Democrats will continue passing radical liberal policies and are seeking refuge in state Republicans who will pass commonsense legislation that will benefit them more.

“Republicans have the momentum to continue to build off their 2021 success as state Democrats’ radical agenda of extreme green energyhigh debt, and keeping parents out of their child’s education are turning away New Jersey voters. New Jerseyans are ready to elect more state Republicans who will continue to pass legislation that will put the needs of their constituents first.” –RSLC spokesperson Stephanie Rivera
