Sen. Booker Lauds Camden Mayor Redd’s Leadership

NEWARK, NJ – U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement regarding Camden Mayor Dana Redd’s announcement that she will not be seeking reelection:

“Every story of resurgence starts with a strong leader, and Mayor Redd has faithfully served that role in Camden’s rising. Under Mayor Redd’s leadership, Camden has experienced steady growth, attracted new businesses and families, and continues to become a prominent New Jersey destination.

“I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Mayor Redd since my days as Mayor of Newark on policies that lift up some of our most disadvantaged communities like investing in economic development, strengthening our infrastructure corridors and boosting job creation. Mayor Redd has also worked steadfastly with leaders on the City Council, the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders, legislators from the Fifth Legislative District, Congressman Norcross, and the entire federal delegation to secure the resources necessary to move Camden forward.

“I join the people of Camden in thanking Mayor Redd for her tireless service to this great city and our state and wish her well on this next chapter in her life.”
