Senator Ruiz on the Passing of Babs Siperstein

Trenton – Senate President Pro Tempore M. Teresa Ruiz (D-Essex) issued the following statement on the passing of Babs Siperstein:

“Babs Siperstein was a powerful force for change in the State of New Jersey and around the country. She fought for our most marginalized groups and refused to accept the status quo of our time. It was an honor to know her and call her a friend, and it is a privilege to have had her represent our state in the national fight for LGBTQ rights. She will be sorely missed but her legacy will continue to propel us forward as we seek greater acceptance and equality for all.”
