LINDEN, NJ- Senator Sandra Cunningham, Deputy Majority Leader, Legislative Distract 31 & Chairwoman of the High Education Committee endorsed Senator Nick Scutari for Union County Democratic Chairman.

“Since entering the New Jersey Senate in 2007, Senator Scutari stood by me not just when it comes to civil rights, but women’s rights. He helped to protect health care for women against Republican cuts. Nick supported my efforts to ensure fair measures are instituted in the criminal justice system in the State of New Jersey defending all human rights.”

“He will be a remarkable Union County Chairman,” added Senator Cunningham.

Prior to serving in the State Senate, Senator Cunningham was the former Executive Director of the Hudson County Bar Association. Previously, she was a Community and Public Relations Coordinator for Essex-Newark Legal Services. She was also the Deputy Director of the Metropolitan Ecumenical Ministry where she initiated programs to expand the role of the church in the community.

Senator Cunningham is a native of Newark, New Jersey and is a graduate of Bloomfield College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She also attended New York Academy of Theater Arts and received a Fundraising Certificate from New York University. She currently resides in Jersey City.
