Sheriff Cureton Administers Oath of Office to Undersheriff Orestes Alvarez
Welcomes Eight Officers to BCSO
Hackensack, N.J. – This afternoon, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton administered the oath of office to Undersheriff Orestes Alvarez who was sworn-in at a public ceremony in the Two Bergen County Plaza Conference Center. Undersheriff Alvarez joins Sheriff Cureton’s executive team comprised of Executive Undersheriff Vincent Quatrone, Undersheriff Dave Borzotta, Undersheriff Jin Sung Kim, and Chief Warrant Officer Cora Taylor, and will be responsible for operations at the Bergen County Jail.
Undersheriff Alvarez spent 25 years as a Corrections Officer in Hudson County, retiring in 2015 at the rank of Lieutenant. During his career with Hudson County, Alvarez served in several supervisory and leadership roles including overseeing the Disciplinary Department, Home Confinement Program, the Work Release Program, and the County Re-Integration Program.
“Undersheriff Alvarez expertise will be heavily utilized in overseeing the operation of the Bergen County Jail and the outstanding corrections professionals who work there. The ceremony also included the presentation to July employee of the month Officer Leszek Lorenc and the administrative oaths of office to eight new sworn officers including:
