Speaker Coughlin, Mayor Baraka and Legislators to Hold Roundtable on Hunger, Gun Violence and Homelessness at West Side High School

 

Legislators will present donation to principal

 

(NEWARK) – Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Senator Teresa Ruiz, Assembly members Cleopatra Tucker (D-Essex), Shanique Speight (D-Essex) and Eliana Pintor-Marin (D-Essex) and Community Food Bank of New Jersey CEO Carlos Rodriguez will visit West Side High School on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 10am.

During the visit, the group will tour West Side High School, followed by a roundtable discussion with teachers and students on combatting hunger, gun violence, and homelessness. Speaker Coughlin will present Principal Akbar Cook with a resolution and the donation of a new refrigerator. Legislators will additionally provide toiletries for students to take home.

West Side High School is located at 403 S. Orange Ave., Newark, NJ 07103.
