Speaker Coughlin Statement on Reports Regarding the NJ Schools Development Authority

(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex) issued the following statement on the release of three reports on the Schools Development Authority (SDA) today:

“The role of the Schools Development Authority has always been to provide high quality schools throughout New Jersey where students can receive an education that sets them up for a successful future.

“The findings in the three reports released today will be reviewed and I hope will serve as a productive roadmap for the best practices of the Authority. I will be supportive of any restructuring plan that will result in the SDA operating efficiently and cost effectively and helps restore the people’s faith in the Authority.

“The mission of the Authority is to build, renovate and modernize schools in the most vulnerable districts in New Jersey. I have confidence that Interim SDA CEO Manuel Da Silva takes seriously his role and will work to implement best practices identified in the reports.”
