Speaker Craig Coughlin Congratulates Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill and Democratic Victors Across New Jersey

EDISON, NJ — Following a historic night for New Jersey Democrats, Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin (D–Middlesex) released the following statement congratulating Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill and 55 Democratic Assembly candidates, and other potential pickups, across the state on their decisive victories:
“Tonight’s results are a resounding victory for the people of New Jersey. Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill’s win, alongside a resounding majority of our Democratic Assembly candidates, demonstrates that voters believe in our shared vision for a more affordable state that protects the rights and freedoms of all residents in our state. I look forward to partnering with Governor-elect Sherrill to continue delivering on the issues that matter most — lowering costs, improving schools, creating good-paying jobs, and fighting for all New Jerseyans.”

Speaker Coughlin praised the hard work and dedication of Democratic candidates, volunteers, and local leaders who helped drive strong turnout and deliver results up and down the ballot.
