Statement from Assemblywomen Shama Haider and Sadaf Jaffer on Anti-Muslim Bias Incident

Trenton – In response to the distressing display of harassment and intimidation toward Muslim communities in Middlesex County,  Assemblywoman Shama Haider and Assemblywoman Sadaf Jaffer put out the following joint statement:

“We stand with Muslim communities in Middlesex County who were met with violent images, intimidation, and harassment this week and we call for an immediate investigation by law enforcement. The driver circled houses of worship and maliciously beamed images of death and violence. The people behind this stunt are driven by ignorance and bigotry and while we cannot govern a person’s heart, we cannot tolerate bullying of any kind. We hope for a quick and thorough investigation into who is behind these acts because we know bias crimes escalate if not addressed. This sort of hate has no place in New Jersey.”
