Statement by New Jersey Audubon President & CEO Eric Stiles, in response to Governor-elect Murphy’s selection of Catherine McCabe as Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner.
“We are excited by the selection of Catherine McCabe for the post of Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection. The professionalism, education and experience that Commissioner McCabe will bring to this position will ensure key leadership necessary to direct the critical work of the Department.
She has been on the front line of protecting the environment and will ensure that science informs all that the Department does. The challenges facing New Jersey’s environment are as great as the opportunities. A healthy environment is key to a strong economy and we must act to secure a sustainable future for our State by protecting our water, land, wildlife and air.
Governor-elect Murphy has set forth a bold environmental agenda and we look forward to working with Commissioner McCabe to achieve the incoming Administration’s priorities.”
