Statement from the New Jersey Democratic State Committee on Senator Bob Menendez-Bob Hugin Debate

NEWARK, N.J. — The New Jersey Democratic State Committee is releasing the following statements on tonight’s U.S. Senate debate between Senator Bob Menendez and Republican challenger Bob Hugin:

“We need a leader who is committed to defending the rights and values of the people of New Jersey, now more than ever. Tonight, Senator Menendez again proved he is that leader,” said NJDSC Chairman John Currie. “Bob Hugin is a rubber stamp for Donald Trump who will push Trump’s right wing agenda and dismantle the social safety net programs Senator Menendez has spent his entire career advocating for. Tonight the message is clear: if you support moving our country in the right direction, then we must re-elect Senator Menendez.”

“Senator Menendez continues to show New Jersey voters why we need his leadership in Washington.
