Tucker Bill Designating High Point State Park as High Point State Park and New Jersey Veterans Memorial Clears Legislature, Heads to Governor’s Desk

(TRENTON) –Continuing to seek ways to honor the men and women of New Jersey who have dedicated their lives to the United States by serving in the U.S. military, Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker (D-Essex), chair of the Assembly Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee, released the following statement Thursday after a bill she sponsored to rename High Point State Park to High Point State Park and New Jersey Veterans Memorial cleared the Legislature and heads to the Governor for further consideration.

The bill (A-3166) cleared the Senate 35-0 today and passed the Assembly 76-0 in February.

“Renaming this park is a fitting tribute to honor men and women who have dedicated their lives to this country by serving in the United States military.  Veterans have made countless sacrifices to protect the liberties and freedoms that we enjoy, and our nation should forever be grateful for their dedication, commitment and heroism.”
