Two Puerto Rican Leaders Endorse Hugin

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ ─ At events in Jersey City and Vineland today, U.S. Senate candidate Bob Hugin received the official endorsement of Congresswoman Jenniffer González-Colón, Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, as well as the personal endorsement of Lydia Valencia, President of the Puerto Rican Congress of New Jersey.

U.S. Senate candidate Bob Hugin released the following statement:

“I’m honored to receive the endorsements from Congresswoman González-Colón and President Lydia Valencia ─ two proven leaders who have a track record of putting people first,” said Hugin. I’m proud to stand with the Puerto Rican people and I’m committed to serving all New Jerseyans with honor and integrity in Washington.”

During the events, Hugin reaffirmed his support for the people of Puerto Rico as well as his track record of independence and commitment to speaking out on issues that are important to New Jersey.

“I’m committed to standing up for the Puerto Rican community here in New Jersey and fighting for equal rights for all Puerto Ricans,” said Hugin. “My whole life I’ve been independent and I’m not afraid to stand up for what’s right. That’s why I called out the President for politicizing Hurricane Maria and the tragic deaths of 3,000 people. We should mourn those souls, not politicize them.”

Congresswoman Jenniffer González-Colón, Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico in Washington D.C., and Lydia Valencia, President of the Puerto Rican Congress of New Jersey, endorsed Bob Hugin as the best choice in this election.

“Bob Hugin’s integrity is unquestionable and he will be great voice in Washington who will stand up for what is right, including granting full equality for Puerto Ricans, said González-Colón. “We need leaders like Bob Hugin who are willing to put people above party politics and work together with others to solve problems and get things done.”

“I’m proud to endorse Bob Hugin for U.S. Senate because we need leaders in Washington who are willing to elevate themselves above the partisanship and dysfunction to do what’s right,” said Valencia. “Bob Hugin is a person of integrity and strong moral character, and he will serve New Jersey well as Senator.”

Bob Hugin, a Marine Corps Veteran and business leader who has created thousands of New Jersey jobs, is running for U.S. Senate against incumbent Senator Bob Menendez. For more information visit bobhugin.com.
