After telling voters in CD-7 that he would be a different kind of leader and bring a fresh perspective to Congress, for his first major decision since being elected, Mr. Malinowksi has decided to back none other than career-politician and DC insider Nancy Pelosi for Speaker.

During the campaign, Mr. Malinowski pledged to “vote for a speaker who will stand up for New Jersey.” By supporting Nancy Pelosi for Speaker, Mr. Malinowski has broken his pledge. Nancy Pelosi has been no friend to New Jersey supporting higher taxes, increased health care costs, and more debt during her tenure as Speaker. Voters asked for fresh perspectives and ideas in this year’s election, not more of the same.

“Young people in Union County are fed up with New Jersey’s high taxes and lackluster economic growth,” said J.D. Bryden, Chairman of the Union County Young Republicans. “New Jersey has more millennials living at home than any other state in the nation, and it’s disappointing that Mr. Malinowksi has already decided to turn his back on our young people by supporting someone who has done nothing to improve our situation. Union County deserves a representative in Congress who will fight for the young people of Union County not cuddle-up to DC insider politicians like Nancy Pelosi. The fight to reclaim CD-7 begins today.”
