Vainieri Huttle Measure Marking October of Each Year as “Disability Employment Awareness Month” in New Jersey Signed By Governor
(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle issued the following statement Wednesday on the signing of her resolution annually acknowledging employees with disabilities throughout the state:
“By acknowledging the many contributions of our workers with disabilities, we encourage awareness of their abilities and work to end discrimination against their disability.
“We want every New Jersey workplace to be more inclusive of people with disabilities and provide a broad range of opportunities for residents to grow and earn a living enabling them to take care of themselves and their families.”
“As we continue our work to break down barriers and eliminate obstacles for those with disabilities, the month of October in New Jersey will be a celebratory mark and reminder, as it is across the country, of how far we’ve come and of what still needs to be done to ensure equal access for everyone.”
