VIDEO: Jack Praises Campaign Director After His Antisemitic and Homophobic Rant

Mikie calls on Jack Ciattarelli fire this member of his ‘inner circle’

PISCATAWAY — Jack’s Executive Director for Muslim Relations and member of his “inner circle of advisors,” [34:31] Dr. Ibrar Nadeem, went on a hate-fueled, antisemitic, and homophobic rant. In addition to attacking our Jewish and LGBTQ communities, Dr. Nadeem confirmed that Jack is in favor of ending same-sex marriage — just like he voted to do in the past — and said Jack doesn’t take money from Jewish voters.

Instead of condemning this disgusting speech on the spot, Jack praised Nadeem, calling him a “very, very impressive man” who “hasn’t let me down one day.”

Despite calls for Jack to condemn these beliefs and fire this director from his campaign, Jack has remained silent.

“It’s unacceptable that these are the values leading Jack’s campaign — and disqualifying that Jack refuses to condemn it. Throughout my career, I have never hesitated to condemn this type of rhetoric — regardless of what party it comes from, and that’s what New Jersey should be able to expect from their next governor. This type of speech has no place in our state and I unequivocally denounce it. Jack must condemn these antisemitic and homophobic comments, and fire this member of his ‘inner circle.’ New Jersey deserves better than this from anyone running to be the most powerful position in the state,” said Mikie Sherrill.

Here’s what Dr. Nadeem said just before Jack praised him:

  • [19:50] “I was blamed that — somebody said you are taking money from Jews. I said I check my bank account every day, brother. It is not there.”
  • [13:26] “We want to have a ban of same-sex marriage. And I know my brother [Jack] voted against it. And he will do it again.”

Mikie has always stood up against antisemitism and homophobia, while Jack has consistently failed to stand against this vile rhetoric and hate coming from his own party — and it looks like this time is no different. New Jersey deserves a governor who will stand up for all residents, not court a community’s votes with one hand while supporting attacks on them with the other.
