Vitale Bill to Transfer Land Parcel Ownership from State to Woodbridge Clears Senate
TRENTON – A bill sponsored by Senator Joseph F. Vitale that would authorize the State Treasurer to sell a parcel of state surplus real estate in the Township of Woodbridge to the Township advanced from the full Senate today.
“This bill would put an expanse of land which lies within the Woodbridge boundaries under the township’s control to make use of it in a way that is most beneficial to the community,” said Senator Vitale (D-Middlesex). “If the state has no use for the land, and the township has an exciting vision for it, this legislation makes all the sense in the world.”
The bill, S-2724, would permit the more than 54 acres known as the Woodbridge Developmental Center to by bought by the Township for $5 million in accordance with the terms and conditions approved by the State House Commission.
The bill was approved with a 38-0 vote.
