Webber on Sherrill Failing To Apologize

Statement from Assemblyman Jay Webber:

“The last three days have seen the Mikie Sherrill campaign hit rock bottom.  Her surrogate’s gratuitous and shameful attack on my relationship with my daughters, and, worse, Mikie’s refusal to reject or apologize for that attack, have turned heads across New Jersey and around the country.

“My wife Johanna and I asked for, and were prepared to accept, Mikie’s apology, so both campaigns could return their focus to sharing our respective ideas about the direction our nation should take.  That apology apparently is not forthcoming.

“Our campaign is moving on.  This election is too important to be distracted any more by such pettiness.  There are too many opportunities to create, too much freedom to restore, and too much prosperity to enable to waste any more time.  Our proud country was built by great men and women of integrity and character, and our present and future belong to those who can elevate their sights beyond campaign nastiness and to a vision of a better tomorrow.  That’s what the voters will find with us, and why we’ll prevail.”
