Women for Johnson Issue Statement

Bergen County, NJ – A group of prominent, democratic women in Bergen County coalescing around Gordon M. Johnson for State Senate issued the following statement today:

“At every impasse, Assemblyman Johnson has stood on the side of women. From reproductive rights to pay equity, from maternal health to expanding protections for sexual assault survivors, Gordon has been an ally, a leader and an unwavering advocate for women’s rights.

“There is no replacing Senator Loretta Weinberg, it cannot be done and it should not be expected. However, in Assemblyman Johnson, we are certain to get the same caliber of character, courage of conviction and presence in the community. We are proud to support Assemblyman Gordon M. Johnson and we encourage all democratic women in District 37 to join us.

“Gordon is a proven, effective legislator for nearly two decades and we look forward to seeing what he will be able to accomplish for the people, and the women, of Bergen County in the New Jersey State Senate.”
