Zwicker and Freiman Win Nomination from Hunterdon County Democratic Committee
Incumbents announce first endorsement from a County Democratic Party in the 16th District
Flemington, NJ – Today, Senator Andrew Zwicker and Assemblyman Roy Freiman received the unanimous endorsement of the Hunterdon County Democratic Committee in their critical re-election race in the 16th Legislative District.
Hunterdon County serves as a key battleground in the effort to re-elect Zwicker and Freiman in November. Clinton Township, Clinton Town, High Bridge Borough, and Lebanon Borough were added into the district in last year’s redistricting process. The unanimous endorsement from the Hunterdon Democrats comes as no surprise, given Zwicker and Freiman’s broad coalition of support and involvement in Hunterdon County.
“Thank you to Chairwoman Arlene Perez, the Hunterdon County Democratic Committee, our seven 16th District Democratic municipal chairs across Hunterdon County, and all Hunterdon Democrats who have supported us since we were first elected,” said Senator Zwicker and Assemblyman Freiman. “We are proud of what we’ve been able to deliver to invest in critical infrastructure projects, access to quality healthcare, and quality education for Hunterdon County families. We look forward to continuing the work when we are re-elected this fall.”
Since taking office, Zwicker and Freiman have fought for Hunterdon County in the State Senate and State Assembly by passing legislation that:
- Provided $4.5 million in low-interest loans for infrastructure projects – including $2.8 million for road resurfacing in Raritan Township and $1.6 million in upgrades to the Corcoran South Main Dewey Road in Flemington
- Made it easier for small businesses and restaurants to recover by providing tax breaks to help them adapt to a post-pandemic economy
- Delivered on their promise to make living and raising a family in New Jersey more affordable by passing the largest property tax relief in New Jersey to homeowners and renters – amounting to over $2 billion
Zwicker and Freiman also fought for a budget last year that included:
- $1 million for 9-1-1 centers in Hunterdon County
- $3 million for a new police department in the Town of Clinton
Zwicker and Freiman represent the 16th Legislative District, which includes parts of Middlesex, Mercer, Somerset and Hunterdon Counties. Including the municipalities of Princeton, South Brunswick, Rocky Hill, Montgomery, Millstone, Hillsborough, Branchburg, Raritan Township, Readington Township, Flemington, High Bridge, Lebanon Borough, Clinton Town, and Clinton Township.
