Baraka Wins

Coming off his unsuccessful bid for Governor last year, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka tonight won reelection in his hometown, securing a fourth, four-year term.

It was a difficult election for Baraka in some ways, as social media posts by the opposition appeared to gain traction, creating an almost Carlos Castenada-like separate reality that hardly reflected the streets.

Baraka denounced the atmosphere as "Silly," and met charges of remoteness with a challenge to his rivals to essentially get real.

In the end, he prevailed with little trouble.

A blowout, in fact.
