Commissioner Cha Statement on Supreme Court Decision on Birthright Citizenship

(TRENTON) – Human Services Commissioner Stephen Cha released the following statement Tuesday on the U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding birthright citizenship:

"As America celebrates 250 years of independence, this decision reaffirms a constitutional principle that has defined who is a U.S. citizen for generations. Upholding the Constitution strengthens our nation, provides certainty under the law, and is something every person proud to call themselves an American can celebrate.”
