Building Momentum on Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez Endorsement, Congressmembers Greg Casar, Ayanna Pressley, Maxwell Frost, Jesús “Chuy” García, Delia Ramirez Endorse Analilia Mejia Ahead of NJ-11 Democratic Primary Election on February 5

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — Today, ahead of the February 5th Primary Special Election for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, Congressmembers Greg Casar (TX-35), Ayanna Pressley (MA-7), Maxwell Frost (FL-10), Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-4), Delia Ramirez (IL-3) have endorsed Analilia Mejia for Congress. This endorsement builds on a growing wave of support for Analilia Mejia from progressives and grassroots New Jersey organizations, including U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14), Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (WA-7), Congressman Ro Khanna (CA-17), the Progressive Caucus PAC, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, the Working Families Party, former New Jersey Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, and labor unions representing thousands of New Jersey workers, including CWA District 1, CWA Local 1037, Rutgers AAUP–AFT, the Rutgers Adjunct Faculty Union, SEIU 32BJ, and the SEIU New Jersey State Council. This endorsement also comes ahead of Senator Bernie Sanders’ Fighting Oligarchy’ Tour Stop in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District on January 19th, 2026.

Congressman Greg Casar said, “Analilia Mejia is a fighter. She will stand up to Trump and take on billionaires and big corporations to deliver for working people. She is the kind of bold, stand and fight progressive we need to shake up D.C. and build a Democratic Party that always fights for working people.”

Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley said, "The moment we find ourselves in is unprecedented, and it demands leaders like Analilia who don't back down, don't play it safe, and who fight unapologetically for workers, families, and our communities," said Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley. "Analilia is ready to take on Trump, special interests, and anyone standing in the way of delivering for folks from every walk of life. We need Analilia in Congress and I know she’ll hit the ground running on day one. I’m proud to endorse her as the next Congresswoman for New Jersey's 11th district."

Congressman Maxwell Frost said, “Analilia Mejia is a proven organizer ready to bring her experience to Congress. She knows how to build power, stand firm in her values, and deliver on the priorities that matter most to working people. I’ve seen her work up close, and she’s exactly who we need representing her community and serving the people.”

Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García said, “Analilia is the leader we need right now. As a bold progressive and accomplished organizer, she will fight for immigrant justice, economic opportunity, and dignity for all. She’s a proven coalition builder who is committed to delivering the results our communities need–including quality healthcare, affordable housing, and jobs. With the people behind her, Analilia will hit the ground running and make a positive difference in Congress on day one.”

Congresswoman Delia Ramirez said, “Analilia is the real deal. She’s an organizer backed by people, not corporate PACs or special interests. She’s running to deliver real results: universal healthcare, strong workers’ rights, and lower everyday costs. Working people are at the center of her campaign, and they’ll be at the center of her work in Congress. We need her in Congress as soon as possible because she’s the kind of Democrat who shows up for the people every single day.”

Analilia Mejia said, “I’m deeply honored to have the support of members of Congress who have shown, time and again, what it means to put people over politics. These are national leaders in the fight to uplift the American people who for far too long have been pushed aside by corporate interests and insiders. Enough is enough. The same old ‘blue’ just won’t cut it anymore—the stakes are too high to elect another Democrat backed by the New Jersey political machine. At this unprecedented moment in our nation’s history, I’m ready to work on behalf of the people with a bold vision for our future. I look forward to bringing that vision to Congress and working alongside these champions for the people. Together, we will lower everyday costs, stand up for working families, and deliver real results.”
