Ewing Democrats Reorganize. Mayor and Chairman Endorse Keyes-Maloney for next Mercer Chair.

EWING, N.J. — The Ewing Township Democratic Committee held its biennial reorganization meeting on Wednesday, June 24, unanimously re-electing Carl Benedetti Sr. to his fourth term as Chairman.

Benedetti Sr. first became Chairman in 2020, succeeding longtime Chairman Bob Dorio. Under his leadership, Ewing Democrats have continued their success in all local elections.

The committee also elected the following officers to serve for the next two years:

Vice Chair: Mary Corrigan
2nd Vice Chair: Elvin Montero
Treasurer: Karen Bellamy-Lewis
Recording Secretary: Walter Brown
Parliamentarian: Rosa Rosado
Sergeant-at-Arms: Eddie Roberts
Following the reorganization, Chairman Benedetti Sr. announced his support for Ewing Councilwoman Jennifer Keyes-Maloney in her campaign to become the next Chair of the Mercer County Democratic Committee. Benedetti Sr. is joined in that endorsement by Ewing Mayor Bert Steinmann.

“I’d like to congratulate Carl Benedetti Sr. on his re-election as Chairman of the Ewing Township Democratic Committee, along with all of our officers,” said Mayor Steinmann. “We must now turn our focus to the county convention this Tuesday and the selection of our next County Chair. I am proud to endorse Councilwoman Jennifer Keyes-Maloney to be the next Chair of the Mercer County Democratic Committee. Jennifer has proven to be a tireless worker for our party, building strong relationships throughout the entire county, and will utilize her extensive governmental experience to grow and strengthen the Democratic Party in Mercer County.”

Benedetti Sr. echoed those sentiments, highlighting Keyes-Maloney’s longstanding service to both Ewing and the Democratic Party.

“Jennifer has proven herself to be a leader in Ewing Township for the past 14 years as a member of Town Council, and we know she will bring that same leadership as the next Chair of the Mercer County Democratic Committee,” said Benedetti Sr. “She has had a hand in every campaign throughout Mercer County during her tenure as First Vice Chair, and she has rightfully earned the opportunity to lead our organization.”

The Ewing Township Democratic Committee said it looks forward to continuing its work to elect Democratic candidates at every level while building a stronger, more unified Democratic Party throughout Mercer County.
