Governor Sherrill Kicks off No Kings Rally in New Jersey

PRINCETON - Americans outraged by the illegal, unconstitutional, cruel, hateful, bigoted, and incompetent presidency of Donald Trump took to the streets today, where New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill joined them.
Standing beside the Princeton Battle Monument commemorating the January 3, 1777 Battle of Princeton, Sherrill denounced the Trump presidency as an egregious abuse of power.
"We are here with people who care deeply about rights, about the Constitution, and the people of New Jersey, and I am so happy to join all of," said the Governor. "We are here to stand up strongly to say, 'No kings.' No kings. No crowns. We believe in the Constitution. We believe in the rule of law. We believe in the people. I for one have pledged to fight for the people of New Jersey."

Sherrill said she is tired of fighting Trump "tooth and nail."
She cited Trump's efforts to derail the Gateway Tunnel project, where Sherrill has consistently defeated him in court. She cited, too, the ongoing government shutdown that has impaired Americans' ability to efficiently and safely travel.
"This is what happens when you put someone in charge who's more interested in making a billion dollars for himself and his family than running the United States of America," said the Governor.
Senator Andrew Zwicker (D-16) followed the Governor's remarks with his own speech HERE.

Co-hosted by Indivisible Princeton and the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey, the rally was well-attended, packed with New Jerseyans fed up with a President who targets the working poor and demonizes immigrant populations while protecting corporate power, enriching himself, starting unlawful wars without congressional approval, denying election results, trying to disrupt elections, militarizing the streets of America, pardoning desecrators of the Capitol and allowing them to mask up and arm up with rushed police power to kill Americans, and infernally whining about how the media treats him unfairly.
