Hoboken Councilman and Former Assemblyman Ramos Endorses Russo for Mayor

NOVEMBER 13, 2025 – Today, Ruben Ramos, Hoboken’s 4th Ward Councilman, offered his proud endorsement of 3rd Ward Councilman Michael Russo in the December 2, 2025 runoff election for Mayor:
“I’m endorsing Mike Russo because I believe he is the best choice to deliver the change that Hoboken needs,” said Councilman Ruben Ramos. ”Councilman Russo is committed to making Hoboken safer, stronger and more affordable while taking action on the quality of life issues that our residents want to see the city address.”
“With Ruben Ramos joining Team Russo, we will be even more unstoppable than before,” said Councilman Michael Russo. “Ruben knows government—from his years serving on the Hoboken City Council to his deep knowledge of state government from three terms in the New Jersey Legislature. He’s also got a relentless spirit—from his career as a public school teacher to his successful fight against cancer. Ruben and I care about the same things: affordability, basic safety and quality of life, and real solutions that make our neighbors’ lives easier. I’m proud to have his support.”
Dr. Michael Russo was born and raised in Hoboken and has been serving the 3rd Ward of Hoboken as a City Council member for over 20 years. A graduate of Hoboken High School, Michael went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Stockton University, Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Rutgers University (formerly UMDNJ), and Doctor of Physical Therapy from Utica College. Now, he’s running for Mayor in the December 2, 2025 Hoboken runoff election, with Liz Urtecho, Nicole Magaña, and Peter Keeling running alongside him for City Council At-Large.
