New Jersey Utilities Association Heads to Jersey City for 111th Annual Conference: Business as Unusual

Affordability, Energy Supply, Infrastructure Investment Key Topics in Utilities for the May 27-28 Conference
JERSEY CITY – The New Jersey Utilities Association (NJUA) is hosting its 111th Annual Conference on May 27-28 at the Westin Jersey City Newport. This year’s theme, “Business As Unusual,” will drive conversations around the state’s most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the utilities industry, which includes electric, gas, water/wastewater, and broadband services that support nearly 10 million residents and businesses every day across the state.
As the utilities industry navigates an era of rapid growth and transformation, New Jersey faces unprecedented customer demand alongside evolving technologies and mandates. This year’s conference will focus on driving utility innovation and supporting the state’s economy to better serve communities statewide.
Over the two-day conference, attendees will hear from keynote speakers and attend panels with high-level industry executives and government officials. Panelists will engage in insightful conversations on a broad range of topics, all aimed at advancing NJUA’s mission of delivering reliable, cost-effective utilities, safe drinking water, and modern energy solutions to residents.
The conference welcomes Jersey City Mayor Jim Solomon, Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo, alongside other prominent industry and policy leaders, all aimed at furthering New Jersey’s utilities sector. Sessions will be moderated by Tom Bergeron of BINJE and Raven Santana of NJ PBS.
In addition to leaders across the utilities industry, the NJUA conference will feature Pablos Holman - a hacker, inventor & technology futurist with a unique ability to distill complex technology into practical tools. Pablos has built spaceships at Blue Origin for Jeff Bezos; a nuclear reactor powered by nuclear waste; and a machine that can shoot mosquitoes out of the sky with lasers - part of an impact invention effort to eradicate malaria with Bill Gates.
