Report: Trump Evacuated from White House Press Dinner

Via USA Today: President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump were evacuated out of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner minutes after it began, as attendees took cover on the floor.
USA TODAY reporters inside the ballroom at the Washington Hilton hotel say they heard loud bangs that sounded like gunshots and chants of "USA." Members of the press in attendance dropped to the floor.
Trump was attending the dinner for the first time in more than a decade – and his first time ever as president – on Saturday, April 25. He has repeatedly skipped the annual event, which brings together Washington’s most powerful and the reporters who cover them.
President Donald Trump was swiftly escorted off the stage by Secret Service after possible shots were fired at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, DC, on Saturday.
Vice President JD Vance and members of Trump’s Cabinet who were also in attendance were also rushed out.
A source told CNN that Trump is safe. According to an administration official, Cabinet members are OK as well.
Several US Secret Service agents yelled, “shots fired” at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner, according to pool reports.

• President Donald Trump was swiftly escorted off stage by Secret Service after shots were fired at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, DC, on Saturday. Trump, Vice President JD Vance and his Cabinet members are all safe, sources said.
• “The shooter has been apprehended,” Trump said on social media, commending law enforcement for acting “quickly and bravely.”
• The president said he is heading back to the White House at the request of law enforcement and will give a news conference soon. He also said the dinner will be rescheduled within 30 days.
• CNN’s Wolf Blitzer was outside the main ballroom where the dinner was taking place when he saw a gunman opening fire on the ground just a few feet away. Police officers ushered him to safety.
