Statement by Somerset County Democratic Chair Peg Schaffer

For more than half a century, Governor Richard J. Codey served the people of New Jersey with integrity, compassion, and a somewhat wicked sense of humor. I am proud to have been able to work with him to elect President Obama in 2008, and to move many issues related to civil rights and women’s rights at the state level. My deepest condolences go out to Mary Jo and their two sons Kevin and Chris.
