Tell Congress: Defund ICE and Show Up for Immigrants at Delaney Hall!

Dear Friend,

Here at Delaney Hall, hundreds of detained immigrants are on a hunger and labor strike, facing retaliation and violence. ICE has shot tear gas and pepper spray at peaceful protestors, immigrant families waiting to visit their loved ones and federal elected officials.

As ICE commits these atrocities, Congress is poised to give an additional $70 billion to fuel the mass deportation agenda. This is unacceptable. We stand with all those who are experiencing abuses at the hands of the Trump administration and continue to call to defund ICE.

We need your help. Send a message to your member of Congress to tell them to show up at Delaney Hall to visit the facility. We need to ensure as many members of Congress as possible exercise their oversight authority and bear witness to the hunger strikers and the atrocious conditions they are living in, and to commit to defunding ICE.

DHS can’t be trusted. They lied about Minneapolis, they lied about pregnant children being held at San Benito, and now they are lying about what is happening at Delaney Hall–even denying entry to elected officials whose job it is to provide oversight at the facility so you won’t know what is actually going on.

Instead of asking for billions of more dollars for DHS to continue this system of abuse, mass detention and deportation, our government should be concerned about ensuring we all have access to healthcare, can afford food and gas, and a roof over our heads.

Thank you for your support,
