Wayne Township Councilwoman Francine Ritter Endorses Tahesha Way for Congress
WAYNE, NJ – Today, Wayne Township Councilwoman Francine Ritter endorsed Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State Tahesha Way in her bid to represent NJ-11. Councilwoman Ritter is the sole Democratic member of the Wayne Township Council.

"I'm proud to stand with Tahesha Way because she's proven she has what it takes to take on the toughest fights and win," said Wayne Township Councilwoman Francine Ritter. "She's been sued by Donald Trump, fought him in court, and won – and she never backed down despite threats and attacks. She's delivered real results for Wayne families as Lieutenant Governor, lowering costs, expanding mental health services, and protecting our rights. Wayne Township needs a fighter in Congress who will deliver for working families – and that's exactly who Tahesha is."

"Wayne has been my home for three decades, and I'm honored to have Councilwoman Ritter's support as I run to represent this community in Congress," said Tahesha Way. "I've spent my career fighting for families in Wayne and across New Jersey because I know what it's like when the system fails you. In Congress, I'll never stop fighting to make sure every family gets a fair shot. I'll stand up to Donald Trump's attacks on our healthcare, our wallets, and our rights – and deliver real results for the working families who deserve a champion in Washington."

Tahesha has spent her career fighting for New Jersey families. In Passaic County, she served Wayne residents as Director of the Board of Commissioners, keeping costs down by reining in tax increases and balancing the budget while still expanding food access and educational opportunities. She later served as Special Counsel for the Passaic County Board of Social Services, overseeing critical agency litigation to protect vulnerable residents and ensure they received essential support services.

As Secretary of State and Lieutenant Governor, Tahesha has led the fight for voting rights and working families. She pushed back against Trump's attempts to restrict voting access, expanded early voting and automatic voter registration, and signed key legislation to lower utility costs, expand mental health services, strengthen tenant protections, and support small businesses – delivering real progress across New Jersey despite relentless attacks from MAGA Republicans.
