WASHINGTON, D.C. – Once the young up and comer in New Jersey GOP politics, former Assemblyman Vince
Polistina (R-2) of Egg Harbor Township may be coming back for a second act, a source at the Marriott bar told InsiderNJ tonight.
Polistina lost his 2011 bid for a senate seat against incumbent state Senator Jim Whelan (D-2), who is retiring at the end of this year.
Now, as the Democratic establishment begs Whelan to reconsider retirement and attempts to buttress Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo (D-2) for a general election face-off with Assemblyman Chris Brown (R-2), Polistina continues to have talks with party brass about a comeback.
He may join a district ticket topped by Brown, the Republican source told InsiderNJ.
