PARSIPPANY – Jamie Barberio was a bit philosophical today.

“You never know, if I win, I win. If not I don’t,” Barberio said after voting this afternoon at the Lake Hiawatha elementary school.

Barberio’s nonchalance mirrors this year’s primary.

Unlike past battles in this town  the contest for the township’s Republican mayoral nomination between Barberio and Lou Valori has been a tad lackluster.

You have to figure things will get more interesting this fall when the winner goes up against incumbent Democratic mayor Michael Soriano.
