A Stumble for Shaw in Roselle
So much for a clear Nov. 3rd general election path to the mayoralty for Roselle’s Donald Shaw.
On Friday, Assignment Judge Karen Cassidy ruled flawed the local Democratic Party’s selection process to award the line to Shaw, who wants to succeed retiring Mayor Christine Dansereau.
Cassidy said the organization erred in allowing an open ballot when bylaws call for a closed one.
The committee must meet by Tuesday to correctly make its selection by secret ballot.
It goes without saying that there are other Democratic candidates in the race, among them Council President Denise Wilkerson and former School Board member Archange Antoine.
