Amid Continued Unfilled Jobs, NJBIA, NJCCC to Hold Press Conference to Increase Awareness of NJ Basic Skills Program, Oct. 20
The New Jersey Business & Industry Association and the New Jersey Council of Community Colleges will host a press conference on Thursday, at 10 a.m. at NJBIA headquarters in Trenton to highlight the efforts of the state’s Workplace Literacy and Basic Skills program, which is celebrating its 15-year anniversary.

Representatives from businesses that have successfully used the program will be in attendance, as will other officials.

“As employers continue to struggle to fill jobs, it is more important than ever that they are aware of the availability of this successful Basic Skills training program, which is available at no cost to the employer or the employee,” said NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka.

“It is open to all New Jersey privately-owned businesses and organizations, yet many employers may not be aware of the program.”

Media members are invited to attend the press conference in person at 10 West Lafayette Street in Trenton, or join the press conference virtually here.
