APPLE MONTESSORI ANNOUNCES 5 FULL-DAY, IN-PERSON AND AT HOME PROGRAM OPTIONS FOR 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR

(FAIRFIELD, NJ) Apple Montessori Schools throughout New Jersey announce they are preparing for a safe and enriching school year for students from 6 months to 12 years old. Apple Montessori is offering in-person, five full-day or half-day programs (Infants through 6^th grade) as well as their virtual At Home full-day programs (Infants through 3^rd grade) for the 2020-21 school year.

“We understand the challenges and uncertainties parents face as the school year approaches,” said Joanne Mooney, Apple Montessori Founder. “Our goal is to provide structure in a nurturing environment. Whether parents choose to enroll their children in school or at home, full time or part time, our modern Montessori approach to education gives them an edge academically, socially, and emotionally.”

In response to the closing of all schools in New Jersey in March as a result of the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Pandemic, Apple Montessori’s 15 New Jersey schools began offering at least two hours of daily live instruction via Zoom, covering core academic subjects such as reading, spelling, science, and math, as well as specialty classes (e.g., yoga, music, art, and sign language). Live instruction is also supplemented by a library of pre-recorded videos of academic lessons for their infant, toddler, preschool, and elementary students. This program has been extended for Apple’s Summer at Home program that runs through August 28.

The At Home program has been further enhanced for the 2020-21 academic year for Apple’s Infant/Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten, and Elementary programs, featuring up to four live zoom classes per day, pre-recorded instruction, individualized curriculum, monthly supply kits and more. Just like Apple’s in-person programs, learning is hands-on and individualized, allowing children to learn at their own pace.

“A child’s brain is like a sponge, thirsty for knowledge. These early periods of brain development affect intellect, the ability to build core skills to think, read, learn, remember, reason, listen and pay attention, as well as nurture social and emotional well-being. We focus on making the most of that key time,” said Ms. Mooney. “We want to give parents every opportunity to send their children to school this year by offering our in-person as well as our virtual At Home programs.”

Apple Montessori Schools are following guidance from state and local governments as well as recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Apple Montessori has developed guidelines and procedures for all schools to ensure the health and safety of our students and families, including new entrance protocols, updated policies for daily activities in the building, social distancing strategies, cleaning and sanitizing, as well as improved snack and mealtime procedures. Please view Apple’s health and safety protocols to learn more.
