The endorsed candidates were selected through a comprehensive screening process that evaluated each candidate’s record, values, and commitment to supporting public education, students, and working families.

● Maureen Rowan (D) – Assembly, Legislative District 2
● James Curcio (D) – Atlantic County Surrogate

“The bipartisan nature of these endorsements reflects our members’ shared commitment to strong public schools and thriving communities,” said Alice Carcilli, Co-Chair of Government Relations for the ACCEA. “Regardless of party, we support candidates who understand that investing in public education is an investment in the future of Atlantic County.”
The ACCEA Screening Committee, composed of local association leaders, retired educators, and legislative representatives, conducted written and in-person interviews to assess each candidate’s positions on issues such as school funding, educator support, student safety, and community partnership. “These candidates have shown a deep understanding of the challenges facing educators and families, along with a genuine commitment to working together toward real solutions,” said Melissa Tomlinson, Vice President of the ACCEA. “We are confident they will remain strong advocates for students and continue to advance the vital role of public education in building a brighter future for New Jersey.” The Atlantic County Council of Education Associations urge all supporters of public education to make their voices heard and vote for pro-education candidates this November.
