Bergen County County Central Trades Council Endorses Balwierczak, Sever for No Arlington Borough Council
BERGEN COUNTY CENTRAL TRADES COUNCIL, AFL-CIO ENDORSES BALWIERCZAK & SEVER FOR NORTH ARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
NORTH ARLINGTON - The Bergen County Central Trades Council, AFL-CIO has endorsed local council candidates Cengiz "Jim" Sever and John Balwierczak over GOP incumbents Kirk Del Russo and Amanda DeCicco.
Both participated in the interview process and received the organization's backing to bring responsible two-party government back to North Arlington.
"We are humbled and grateful for such a significant endorsement because we are on the side of tenants, homeowners, taxpayers, working families and seniors. Our opponents are nothing but puppets to Pronti and support these random tax reassessments that are universally opposed by most taxpayers here in the borough. Our opponents are nothing but tools for massive overdevelopment with no plan for the future. The Pronti Administration is an island to itself to county, state and federal partners with no ability to work with others. Our election can change all that," offered Balwierczak and Sever, himself a proud union member and craftsman.
"We believe our message resonates with North Arlington's values of remaining small, safe and suburban."
Sever also received the endorsement of NJ AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech, as one of the hundreds of union members seeking elective office across the state come Tuesday, November 5th.
Neither Del Russo nor DeCicco were considered by the influential trade organization.
Representing some 50 affiliated locals and some 50,000 men & women, both Balwierczak and Sever believe a blue-collar community like North Arlington will be best served by council members who will standup for average working families concerned about these random assessments that are driving longtime residents to move and relocate.
"Del Russo and DeCicco are an extension of a failed status quo. They won't campaign or debate, or acknowledge the damage done by Pronti's failed economic policies that are raising taxes. They attend one meeting per month to vote "yes" for Pronti's policies without question. They are puppets. Pure and simple. It's embarrassing how little they contribute for receiving roughly $1,000 per month as council members. We can do better," observed Balwierczak, himself a former union member with Local 1262 of the United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW).
