BRICK DEMOCRATIC CLUB PRESIDENT BARBARA ANN REILLY ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENT OF EILEEN DELLA VOLLE AND ERIN WHEELER FOR ASSEMBLY IN OCEAN COUNTY (LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT 10)

BRICK, NJ (October 30, 2019)—New Jersey State Assembly candidates Eileen Della Volle and Erin Wheeler, the Democratic challengers for the 10th Legislative District, have received the Endorsement of Brick Democratic Club.President Barbara Ann Reilly is excited to endorse Della Volle and Wheeler so we can have fresh ideas in Trenton and not Politics as usual. The candidates are community-minded and are aware of many issues that plague Ocean County.Della Volle and Wheeler have both come to Club meetings twice and discussed their plans when they represent us in Trenton. The Moderator was Gavin Rozzi of Ocean County Politics.com and he asked pointed questions of the Republican and Democratic Candidates at our meeting.

When asked about the local economy and jobs Della Volle stated that, “Ocean County residents are the forgotten people of NJ.  We generate ¼ of all the tourism dollars in NJ yet with the low paying seasonal and service jobs residents have to commute far to get a higher salary jobs  to support their families.Attracting job creators to the district creates an incentive for people to live here, boosting our property values and helping us recover the ratables we lost during Super Storm Sandy.”

When asked about Environmental issues concerning the Barnegat Bay-Both Della Volle and Wheeler said in order to ensure the health and sustainability of Barnegat Bay they kayaked down the Barnegat Bay and asked any other Ocean County residents to join them. They stated they saw first-hand “how the bay is dying on our watch from a complex combination of threats stemming from pollution, run-off and over-development and climate change. We cannot allow this to happen!”

They stated that, “Barnegat Bay is considered one of the most valuable “living” resources in the nation due to its ecological productivity and is an economic powerhouse that generates nearly $4 billion to New Jersey’s economy.”

Wheeler was asked about the Slashing of the School Funding to many school districts in Ocean County and she stated that, “New Jersey pulled tens of millions of dollars of state school funding from the school districts in LD 10, based on an unfair formula that failed to factor in our districts’ disproportionately high special education costs and the tax base destroyed by Super Storm Sandy.” She went on to say that, “Our schools cannot feasibly absorb the massive reductions in staffing and services these cuts will cause. Offsetting these costs will fall on the backs of our already over-burdened taxpayers.”

Eileen and Erin will fight for funding for Special Education and will make sure the reductions of funding will be phased into school districts so they can better prepare and plan.

NEW JERSEY SCHOOLS ARE RANKED NUMBER 1 IN THE NATION.WHEELER STATES, “THAT WE SHOULD CELEBRATE

AND CONTINUE TO ALL WORK TOGETHER TO MAINTAIN THIS.” Wheeler also stated, that this will also attract homebuyers and property values will rise, and it will provide resources and skills need for younger people to succeed in whatever challenges they may face.
