Mayor Andre Sayegh today announced a leadership transition within the Office of the Mayor, marking the conclusion of a six-year tenure for the City’s current Chief of Staff, Dacil Tilos, and the promotion of the current Deputy Chief of Staff, Deborah Bravo, to Chief of Staff.

After six years of dedicated service to the City, Dacil Tilos will be stepping down as Chief of Staff to pursue new professional opportunities. During her tenure, Tilos played an important role in advancing the administration’s priorities, coordinating city operations, and supporting the Mayor and residents of the community.

“Dacil Tilos has been an exceptional member of our team and has served the City of Paterson with unimpeachable integrity over the past six years,” said Mayor Andre Sayegh. “Her unwavering commitment to public service and to the people of our city has made a meaningful and lasting difference. I am deeply grateful for her leadership, professionalism, and dedication. I wish her continued success in all of her endeavors.”

Effective Monday, August 31st, 2026, Deborah Bravo, who currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff, will be promoted to Chief of Staff. In the new role, Bravo will oversee the Mayor’s senior staff, help coordinate the administration’s policy and operational priorities, and continue working closely with departments, community partners, and residents.

“Deborah Bravo has demonstrated strong leadership, sound judgment, and a deep commitment to serving our community,” Mayor Sayegh said. “I am confident that she will build on the excellent work of this office and help us continue delivering results for the people of our city.”

The Mayor also announced that Nicole Chumpitasi, a Paterson resident and former aide to Bergen County Commissioner Germaine Ortiz, will join the administration as its new Deputy Chief of Staff. In her new role, Chumpitasi will work alongside the Mayor and Chief of Staff to advance the administration’s goals, priorities, and initiatives.

“I am excited to welcome Nicole Chumpitasi to our team,” Mayor Sayegh said. “Her experience and perspective will be a valuable addition to the Office of the Mayor as we enter this next chapter.”

The leadership transition reflects the administration’s commitment to maintaining continuity while bringing new energy and experience to the Office of the Mayor.
