Chairman Jones Statement on Trump’s Unconstitutional Military Force in Venezuela

Trenton, NJ—New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman LeRoy J. Jones Jr. released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s illegal military force in Venezuela demonstrates he doesn’t care about ‘peace on earth,’ halting illicit drugs from entering our country, or the U.S. Constitution. He’s pursuing a hostile takeover of a foreign nation to distract from the Epstein files and line the pockets of oil corporations and billionaires.

Everyday Americans worry about the rising cost of basic necessities like groceries and healthcare and want leaders to address these concerns. Instead, we as taxpayers are footing the bill for Trump and his donors to make millions off of a war while our federal resources are dedicated to run a country 2,000 miles away for the foreseeable future.

Donald Trump’s greed will continue to cost us. Members of Congress of both parties must work together to hold him accountable for these illegal acts of war.”
