Corrado to Murphy: No More Vaccine Mandates on our Kids

Parents, Not Government, Should Make Medical Decisions for Their Children

Senator Kristin M. Corrado called on the Murphy Administration to halt vaccine mandates, particularly on school children, in the wake of new CDC loosely structured recommendations.

“Government should stay out of this and leave decision-making to parents,” said Corrado (R-40). “The last thing we need is yet another overreaching and unjustified mandate.

“Trenton should get out of the way and stop interfering with parents’ rights to make important decisions about their kids’ health.”

Recently, a group of vaccine advisors at the CDC suggested adding COVID-19 vaccines to immunization schedules for adults, adolescents, and children.

“Throughout the pandemic, proclamations from CDC and from Dr. Fauci have proven unreliable, factually flawed, and poorly time,” Corrado noted. “Too often, the ‘experts’ have had to walk back statements that turned out to be wrong, yet in New Jersey, the Governor has been quick to embrace CDC’s ramblings as infallible.”

Parents across the nation have demonstrated reluctance to having their children vaccinated. Since June when the FDA authorized the use of COVID immunization for kids 5 and under, barely 20 percent of children have received the first dose, and a study by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that 40 percent of parents said “they definitely would not get their youngsters vaccinated.”

“Clearly, parents object to being told by the Governor or the CDC that they must immunize their children with a shot that doesn’t appear to be especially effective at preventing the virus,” Corrado added.
