Director Zilinski to Retire from Trenton Department of Finance

Trenton N.J. – Mayor Reed Gusciora is announcing that Director Ronald Zilinski, Director of the Division of Finance, will step down from his post effective January 17th. Zilinski, who graduated from Seton Hall University, has worked in public service for the City in different capacities over the last thirteen years.

Zilinski previously served as the CFO for Hillsborough Township from 2002-2007. In former Mayor Douglas Palmer’s administration, Zilinski served as Finance Director where he was responsible for managing four divisions of finance, namely, the treasury division, tax collection division, and the tax assessment division.

Zilinski worked as the CFO and Treasurer for the City of Plainfield from 2011-2012. From 2012-2014, Zilinski served as the CFO for Isles Inc., a non-profited located within the Capital City, where he oversaw the implementation of financial services and loans to help empower residents of the City. In November 2014, Zilinski was asked by then-Mayor Eric Jackson to help finalize the 2015 State Fiscal Year budget which included $188,712, 565 for general appropriations within the City.

“I am grateful for the opportunities to serve the City of Trenton” stated Director Ronald Zilinski. Zilinski remarked “I am optimistic that this administration will continue to fight for State aid, which will lift the burden off of residents and businesses.” During the Director’s tenure in the Palmer administration, the City received over $35 million dollars in annual Capital Cities aid. The City is encouraging residents and business-owners to support the City’s appeal for the State to provide historic levels of Capital City Aid.

Mayor Reed Gusciora stated “Director Zilinski has done an outstanding job and has provided leadership to the City. Gusciora noted that “This administration is committed to ensuring that the Capital City is a better place to call home. With the help of supporters in the state legislature, we are honoring Governor Murphy’s commitment to giving the Capital City its fair share of State aid.”
