In Big Boost Of Momentum, Hotel & Gaming Trades Council Backs James Solomon for Jersey City Mayor.

Jersey City, NJ - James Solomon’s surging campaign picked up another huge jolt of momentum today with the backing of the Hotel & Gaming Trades Council (HTC). HTC joins a growing list of leaders backing Solomon in his campaign to be the next mayor of Jersey City.

HTC President Rich Maroko said: “When the chips were down in 2019, when Jersey City voters went to the polls on the short-term rental referendum, no council person stood taller for tenants, for hotel workers, for our communities than James Solomon. James is a principled leader, a constant voice for the concerns of our members. We need a strong leader in City Hall, someone who not only listens to the concerns of working people, but acts on them. James is that leader, which is why I am so proud to announce our endorsement today.”

Jersey City Mayoral candidate James Solomon said: “I am honored to receive the endorsement of HTC, a union that fights so hard for its workers and is on the front lines of important fights like wage fairness and worker safety. This campaign is surging because of the support of unions like HTC and regular people in New Jersey who are sick of the status quo. This campaign is about making Jersey City more affordable, livable and a better place to raise a family. We’re going to win this race because we’re the only campaign that’s been focused on those issues from Day 1.”

HTC represents hotel, club, racetrack, and casino workers in a region which includes NYC, Northern New Jersey, and Upstate New York.
