Marks and Pappas: Bramnick and Munoz Dodging Candidates’ Forum
League of Women Voters Went Out Of Their Way to Accommodate Incumbents
Martin Marks and Harris Pappas, Conservative Independent candidates for the NJ Assembly in Legislative District 21 are slated to join Democrat candidates Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman at The League of Women Voters Candidates’ Forum on Oct. 26 at 6:30 PM at the Decorso Community Center in New Providence. Incumbent Republicans Jon Bramnick and Nancy Munoz will apparently be no-shows for the debate.
Marks stated, “This event would have been the one and only time for all six candidates for the State Assembly in LD 21 to appear together before the public and answer questions regarding the issues important to the voters of our district. The League of Women Voters has traditionally hosted these events for all levels of government over the years and this year bent over backwards proposing no less than 4 different dates to Bramnick and Munoz to get them to show. The lack of cooperation on behalf of team Bramnick/Munoz is a clear example of incumbent arrogance. To not show for the forum will be a clear example of incumbent cowardice.”
Marks continued, “I must ask rhetorically, ‘what are Bramnick and Munoz trying to hide?’ The answer of course is they both have a lot of political baggage they would evidently prefer not to discuss. Being the champion of a 185% gas tax increase, bragging about F ratings from the NRA and making disparaging comments about our Republican President and his supporters have gotten team Bramnick/Munoz in hot water with conservative voters. The latest fiasco over at the Bramnick Law firm where it was advertised that they would attempt to ‘discredit’ the stories of victims of sexual assault in defense of clients accused of same, in addition to defending illegal immigrants in New Jersey has gotten the whole state in an uproar. If they are unwilling to face the music at a public candidates’ forum, they should certainly face the wrath of the 21st District electorate on November 5.”
